In addition to much needed academic space for the middle school and high school, the design addresses the problem of students crossing a heavily traveled county road that divides the campus in two. The solution locates spaces shared by middle school and high school students in a dramatic bridge elevated across the road and connecting the two buildings. Younger students are kept separated from older students by way of carefully placed corridors flooded with daylight and views to the countryside. The project will provide a new multi use auditorium, secured entrances to both schools, and elevated classrooms.
