SPHERA —OBJECT - Urban Sculpture
SPHERA operates as an urban sculpture positioned at the intersection of architecture, public infrastructure, and embodied human experience. The work challenges the traditional notion of sculpture as an autonomous monument, instead proposing a performative spatial object activated through movement, occupation, and everyday urban interaction.
Composed of continuous yet fragmented curvilinear geometries, the form introduces a rhythmic landscape that responds to the dynamics of the surrounding city. Rather than prescribing a singular function, the sculpture remains open-ended — simultaneously serving as seating, gathering space, spatial marker, and experiential terrain. Its horizontal articulation counterbalances the vertical dominance of the built environment, restoring the scale of the human body as the primary reference within public space.
The material presence — monolithic, durable, and tactile — emphasizes longevity while accommodating the evolving conditions of urban life. SPHERA becomes an interface between art and urbanism: a sculpture not merely observed, but inhabited.
As an urban intervention, the project positions contemporary sculpture as a catalyst for social activation, where aesthetic expression and civic function merge into a continuous public experience.
