In the midst of limited land sizes for residential homes, the need for a sense of spaciousness remains a preference that cannot be overlooked. Therefore, if this preference cannot be achieved through size, design can offer the impression of spaciousness through other means.
In fact, the impression of spaciousness can also be achieved by optimizing aspects beyond just the dimensions of length and width; optimizing the height of a space has become a widely applied design solution. However, in this project concept, other possibilities are explored by guiding the orientation of the occupants. For instance, the angled orientation from the entrance of the main door from the carport continues into open-plan spaces that lead to a backyard garden open to the sky. Another approach is directing the orientation of the front balcony toward a less dense front view, resulting in a façade design that is not perpendicular to the street.
