South Place Hotel

South Place is a new eight storey hotel designed by Allies and Morrison for owner and developer Frogmore. Interior design is by Conran + Partners and D&D London is the hotel’s operator. It is a boutique hotel in the heart of the City.
Located near Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations, South Place has 80 bedrooms, two restaurants - one with a rooftop terrace, three bars, conference and private dining rooms, and since opening has already established itself as a destination in the City.
Located on a narrow City block, the brief for the scheme was to maximise the potential of the site with a building which would fit into the streetscape and respond to its immediate context.
Sustainability was an important consideration from the outset of the design and the scheme is designed to achieve a BREEAM rating of Excellent and provide CO2 savings of 40% below Part L 2006 requirements.
