A design for a large, yet unassuming, single-family home in Tarnowskie Góry (Silesian Voivodeship). Designed for a young family of five, the house sits on a nearly square, flat plot with north-facing access. The building's basic form is simple, opening onto the south-facing garden and almost entirely enclosed on the north side. The entrance and driveway are located on the north side. The single-story house features a usable attic and an additional attic. Maintaining the spaciousness and full functionality of the attic rooms was crucial for the investor. This is why the high knee walls are 1.5 meters high. An additional attic was created above the attic, allowing for easy access without bending. All of the investor's requirements were met while maintaining a simple roof structure.
The functional layout of the interior remains quite classic. The ground floor houses the living area, along with the entrance, utility, and garage areas. The attic serves strictly as a living space, providing space for three children's bedrooms, a large study, a master bedroom with its own bathroom, a bathroom, and a laundry room.
The living room and dining area are tucked away deep within the building. A roof provides southern daylight, creating a large covered terrace and preventing the living room from overheating in the summer. Extensive south-facing glazing captures low-level sunlight during the fall and winter months.
According to the investor's plans, in addition to the necessary technical installations, the building will be equipped with mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, air conditioning, and an intelligent system (smartphone control, etc.).
