A House with a View – Two-Storey Family Home in Siemianowice Śląskie
This project concerns a two-storey single-family house with a flat (formally single-pitch) roof, designed in accordance with the local zoning plan (MPZP). The site, located in Siemianowice Śląskie, is highly unusual but offers exceptional landscape qualities.
The plot sits on an embankment, with a seven-metre escarpment running along its northern boundary. From this elevated position, the property opens toward the north with picturesque views of the surrounding forest, fields, and a small river. It was precisely this view that captivated the investor, who decided to take on the challenge of developing such a demanding site.
Sharing the client’s appreciation for the setting, we designed the house to open northwards — the largest glazing frames the panoramic view. This design decision became the key factor shaping both the spatial layout and many architectural solutions.
The building’s footprint is roughly square, with a slight offset and a partially cantilevered upper floor. The home provides a full functional program for a family of four.
The ground floor houses the main living area with an open-plan kitchen, study, bathroom, and utility spaces, as well as a spacious double garage at the front.
The upper floor contains the private zone with three bedrooms — including the master suite with two walk-in wardrobes and a private bathroom — along with a children’s bathroom and laundry room.
Due to the proximity of the escarpment and the challenging ground conditions (an uncontrolled fill), the house is supported on CFA concrete piles, ensuring stability and safety of the structure.
