The detached house replaces an older residence at Saltverket in Larvik. The site extends itself along a ridge to the north and slopes down towards Larviksfjorden with good sun conditions and with great views. The new house has got a modern feel with a carefully considered architecture that reflects the site's character. The accommodation is mainly based on one master plan with a cantilevered living room and kitchen with access to the slate patio. An open pergola screens the outdoor seating area and a fireplace is introduced on the lower level that caters to the garden area and an outdoor living room. The residence has clean lines with durable building materials such as glass, zinc, concrete and untreated wood in combination with the use of local slate / drywall. The topographic conditions of the site are as far as possible preserved, and the modern architecture with its flat roofs is applied to maintain surrounding neighbours solar and lighting conditions wherever possible.
