Welcome to Requiem for Ruins: a bold experiment in transformation of what most would call garbage but we call potential. For 18 relentless months, we’ve hoarded the remnants of our creative endeavours: scraps of plywood, remnants of metal, broken tiles, failed prototypes, and all the things others would toss aside. Instead of discarding these materials, we embraced them, transforming our collective waste & failures into a fully functional design studio + an alternative art gallery : a living, breathing space that defies convention, challenging the idea that waste is worthless.

As you step into Material Lab, you immerse yourself in an experience that challenges perceptions. It’s alive with the energy of possibility, urging you to engage with materials in a way that ignites your imagination. This is where function meets artistry, where every pieces invites contemplation and interaction.

The Material Lab doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities of waste, it confronts them head-on, demonstrating that sustainability can be vibrant, artistic, and engaging. It inspires visitors to rethink their relationship with materials, pushing boundaries and encouraging a shift toward a more conscious way of living and creating.
