Perched high on a bluff above Los Angeles and the Pacific Ocean, the Pacific House unfolds the very earth of the site itself to open views of the city and sea. While it is a large house, at 24,000 sf, its sheer bulk has been broken up and concealed into the land. Sloping meadows create outdoor amphitheaters and various personal courtyards. Designed for an avid car collector, spaces and ramps showcase a stunning vintage car collection, while at one end of the site is a valley that recreates a classic “look out point” with a drive in movie theater.
