10,000 sqft - 25,000 sqft
This new building serves as a Parish Hall for the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Baytown, Texas and is the first step in implementing the master plan designed by BRAVE / ARCHITECTURE. The 11,500 sf building creates an active environment in tune with the site, the church and its parishioners. The main program consists of a dining hall, full kitchen, daycare and three classrooms – all connected by outdoor hallways and organized surrounding a covered pavilion. The layout increases the amount of natural light into the building while still protecting the interior from the harsh Texas sun. Metal panels, cedar wood and multi-colored storefront glazing were selected for the exterior, which together with bright colored interior walls compose a light and contemporary environment re-interpreting the classic Parish Hall.
