Masterplan ‘Onze Hoeve’ creates a unique combination of urban living in the landscape with a high circular ambition.
Onze Hoeve builds on the rich history of castles and horticulture in Heemskerk with its spatial design. A history that is about community spirit and a strong relationship with the landscape, in which solidarity and the green character come together in a contemporary form.
Onze Hoeve consists of four farms and the station area. The farms are built from residential buildings of three to four floors high. Each farm has a unique mix of typologies with its own architectural appearance, resulting in a set of varied buildings. In Onze Hoeve, the focus is on a suitable cluster of facilities in the plinths around the station square. The plan provides for 250 to 300 homes for various target groups and approximately 1,700 m2 of (hybrid) facilities. We create attractive combinations of commercial and social facilities.
Each farm consists of four to five different, characteristic, small-scale residential buildings, which are placed separately in the continuous natural landscape. Together they form an intimate living community, each with a collective garden with its own identity. An exuberant green environment where residents and visitors can meet each other. A more mixed environment with facilities will be created at the station.
The landscape is designed in two structures: a continuous, publicly accessible park and semi-public, communal courtyards within the farms. An informal network of paths connects the green station square with the surrounding neighbourhoods and the new farms.
A lot of attention is paid to sustainability. Our Farm will be nature-inclusive. This stimulates biodiversity and increases the well-being of residents and local residents. The housing blocks are constructed from a biobased supporting structure. Recycled bricks or natural stucco in combination with wooden facade parts are used for the facades.
The lively station square with a green character forms the transition to the public transport hub. There will be a smooth transition from the lower farms to the more urban typologies around the station square. The landscape connects the farms and the apartment buildings around the green station square into one area.
