With a 375m2 plot of land located in the riverside Villa Area, the homeowner is a father of two daughters, wishes to build a villa that brings the best quality of life for family members. The children all have their own bedrooms for privacy, but they must be well connected to each other. The livingroom and kitchen are large, connected to an open space with many trees and water. It’s also the main living space, where father and children can spend time together, telling each other sad and happy stories after each long day of work. To realize that wish, the Butecco design team proposed a modern architecture that still carries the breath of tropical Asian style. Dedicating nearly 60% of the area to nature helps all spaces in the building to be maximally open, easily connecting with nature.
The building's shape is inspired by the layout of simple rectangular boxes. The highlight of the facade is the long louvre window frame system, which both recalls traditional tropical architecture and helps enhance wind convection for the interior spaces. Materials are skillfully selected combining the rustic gray color of honeycomb stone with the color of deep brown wood to bring solidity and peace to the villa.
The living room, kitchen-dining table, and bedroom spaces are linked together by a green garden, life is in every space, nature and people are gathered and live together in harmony. The reading and yoga area is arranged in a container box placed at an off-angle on the 2nd floor, creating a unique and dynamic look for the building. The interior design uses raw concrete and natural wood to help the space feel close, creating a more friendly feeling for users.
