Located in the Tiamo Phu Thinh villa complex, along a quiet branch of the Saigon River, Mr. Cuong Villa is the second home of a young family. With experience from their first house, the owners had a clearer idea of what they needed: a peaceful and private space for rest and daily living.
The design follows a neoclassical style with minimal decoration - simple in detail, but elegant in form. A series of large arched openings brings a sense of softness and calm, while the overall form remains strong and balanced. A high boundary wall with a diagonal cut adds character to the facade while keeping the house private.
Natural light and wind play important roles. Sunlight enters gently through trees, warming the floors and the breakfast table. Breezes pass through side openings, keeping the house cool without needing fans or air conditioning. These elements reflect the tropical monsoon climate of southern Vietnam.
Spaces are arranged to feel quiet and natural – private enough for comfort, but open to air and garden views. Nature is present in every corner without overwhelming the space. The house offers a calm lifestyle, close to greenery, daylight, and breeze.
A special feature is on the third floor – a rooftop space with a game room, a small pantry, and a swimming pool. The pool is next to indoor spaces and framed by large glass doors. People inside can enjoy views of the outside activity, but the space still feels quiet and private. Although initially a technical challenge, the pool now functions smoothly and has become a key feature of the house.
The interior uses light beige tones to create warmth and clarity. Curved doorways, soft corners, light pink walls, and smooth wall-ceiling transitions give the house a gentle, continuous look. The design stays minimal but personal, where every corner offers a moment of relaxation.
Away from the fast-moving world outside, Mr. Cuong Villa remains slow and peaceful – a place of quiet details and thoughtful design.
