A super roof, enveloped by a nest-like structure, shields the dwelling while creating distinctive covered and semi-covered outdoor spaces. Its thick, high-performance envelope—featuring exterior insulation, air barriers, high-performance windows, and exterior shading—functions as a soft machine, responsive to its environment. A fully insulated slab and continuous perimeter insulation at the stem wall protect the home from seasonal temperature swings, while decoupling the slab from the perimeter wall eliminates thermal bridging at ground level.
The interior is defined by simplicity, durability, and a minimalist aesthetic.
