The practice of GS Design continues to focus on spatial experiences, which combine the building with the surrounding environment, unlocking the relationship between space and experience through the careful use of color, light, art and other media.
Located in Nan'ao Subdistrict, Shenzhen, the Miyue · Blue & White Cliffside Resort is a resort created by the joint creativity of Miyue and GS Design.
The starting point of the building is an intent to allow the natural surrounding landscape to become part of the interior.
Located amidst stunning mountainous views on the south coast of China, the project incorporates a predominantly white colour palette throughout, creating an aesthetic clarity which complements the sweeping expanses of blue sea and sky which surround it. The designers have realized a building composed of a series of elegantly minimalist spaces for its guests, whose warm, uncluttered style and natural materials reflect the atmosphere of the natural environment.
All of the resort’s 25 rooms have a unique interior design and character, with the core element of each one being the different caves and baths which provide spectacular framed views of the landscape. Guests can immerse themselves in cooling water as they look out over mountains and sea in silence, enjoying a meditative moment framed by pristine white.
The public dining area’s materials are primarily natural bamboo and wood, and the black bamboo bar adds an intriguing atmosphere.
The project is intended to serve urban dwellers looking for a quiet getaway from the city, and the design’s neutral colour palette and quietly elegant aesthetics provide a suitable atmosphere for calm and relaxation which can be difficult to find in the city.
Developed with the aim of achieving a memorably visual, tactile, and auditory experience, the hotel connect guests to the natural world, as well as a liberating simplicity and freedom.
