Between the Walls studio created the Mislad office project as an embodiment of resimercial design philosophy, harmoniously blending domestic comfort with modern workspace functionality to address post-pandemic demands for inspiring, psychologically comfortable work environments. The design prioritizes creating a space where people genuinely want to return, fostering productivity and creativity through an informal atmosphere that stimulates rather than pressures. The layout centers on a dynamic open-plan entrance area that facilitates interaction between employees and visitors, integrating a multifunctional lounge with meeting room and dining area perfect for buffet meetings or wine gatherings, complemented by a hidden kitchen. The hexagonal meeting room exemplifies thoughtful acoustics with glass doors, double-layered curtains, and soft Forbo carpeting, featuring custom pistachio wallpaper with mythological lion illustrations and cocoon-shaped Japanese paper lampshades from Ferm Living alongside a custom metal, marble, and glass table. Artist Anastasiia Leliuk contributed large-scale papier-mâché bas-reliefs depicting fantastic beasts in the kitchen area and ceiling paintings throughout the dining and workstation areas, creating visual unity and narrative depth. Four distinct workstations each possess unique atmospheres, including one near the historic synagogue that sensitively reflects its context through warm yellow hues and mustard curtains, featuring a restored vintage Odesa cabinet that exemplifies the studio's sustainable design approach. Additional zones combine functionality with aesthetics through secret garden atmospheres created by grape cluster light fixtures, preserved original brick reliefs, bold black and red contrasts with angular and rounded forms, and custom green marble wall lights that create refined harmony between spaces, while the secluded director's office features Donald Judd-style shelves and upcycled leather furniture within classic proportions enhanced by rich burgundy, eucalyptus, and vibrant blue color contrasts.
