Our project proposed a reflection on the role of the void in a city dense and consolidated that offers opportunity for a new public space. As background, the "ensanche" of Barcelona was chosen, designed by Idelfons Cerda in the late nineteenth century and consolidated during the twentieth century. For Barcelona the "ensanche" is more than a neighborhood, is the center that articulates the distinct historic urban organizations. Your feature order blocks of 113 square meters on a side street and 20 meters wide allows sufficient flexibility to adapt the different needs.
Because it is an experimental project, the intent was to foster a discussion not only architectural, but also urban. Besides trying to resolve an interstitial urban of a fragmentation of the original court, has putted in check the entire proposal of urban Cerdá, present in the city since the nineteenth century
