Situated within an existing structure by renowned Swedish architect, Bernt Nyberg, is a private spa designed for a family of four in Lund. It was a privilege to work within these walls, and to breathe new life into a space previously used as a garage.
The interior consists of a lounge space, a pool, a sauna, a shower, and a toilet. Storage space is accessible from the exterior.
The space is finished with floors and walls of Vals quartzite which extend seamlessly into the pool. On the ceilings and the inside of the sauna, the surfaces are clad with thin cedar panels.
A large folding door extends across the width of the main facade, serving the dual purpose of inviting natural light in and connecting the spa to the private garden outside.
