A Honeymoon Island to Be Reactivated
Dongao Island, also known as "Honey Moon Island", is a deep-sea island with the best natural endowment in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. But at the same time, the vitality of the island does not seem to be fully activated. The scattered scenic spots and low-end hotels have not allowed Dongao Island to achieve the desired heat. With the ambition of building Dongao Island into an island tourist attraction in the Greater Bay Area, the owner invited us to plan and design a group of buildings for Dongao Island, which can reconnect and activate the entire island, where the "Love Heart Center" is this the core of the group building.
Floating Between the Mountains and The Sea
This building is located in the mountains and sea with excellent views of the nature. Based on the topography, the platform-up spatial pattern attempts to echo this mountain-sea relationship, rising along the side of the mountain and lower on the side facing the sea, depicting a natural and beautiful skyline, allowing green mountain views and openness. Unlimited sea views flow freely between the venues. The floating heart pattern also gets plenty of sunlight and scenery, and merge with nature from the inside out and from the outside in.
Vibrant Cultural and Artistic Paradise
The love heart center is also a micro theme park. The holiday apartment located on the upper floor with courtyard has views both of the mountains and the sea, while the commercial is placed under it, spreading to the seaside. Cafe, bars, arts, culture and education, selected commercial content and open block form together build a vibrant mixbook that extends in all directions. Roof terraces are completely open to the public, which is 5,000-square-meter balcony to host large-scale events such as beach weddings, Christmas festivals, or music shows. The popularity and vitality of Dongao Island will burst here!
Lego Modular for Future Flexibility
The construction conditions on Dongao Island are not complete yet, and it is difficult to implement overly complex construction techniques on the island. In order for the building to be better realized, this "love heart" is composed of 17 standard modules of 24m*24m. These modules will be produced in factory on land and then assembled on the island; structure, electromechanical and curtain wall all have been carefully designed to adapt to this special construction mode. In 2 years, maybe even shorter, we will see the "Love Heart" on google map.
