The design of the London apartment, located in the Lambeth district, took some particularities into account. In addition to harmonizing the couple's own furniture with the new pieces we chose, we designed a transition between the social floor and the back patio. Between both spaces, there is a staircase. We covered this space with glass in order to continue allowing access to the back patio through the stairs, but we added new uses. These new uses range from an extension of living to a home office, an essential room to several people these days. We used aluminum structure and glass with a well-defined geometric shape. To show respect for the previous construction, we wanted to make it clear that the new piece is a recent addiction to the building. Joinery details complemented the architecture and furniture.
