Originally inhabited by a family, the Leblon Apartment underwent a complete transformation to meet the needs of its new owner. The primary goal of the project was to integrate and expand the social areas, including the master suite, which can now be connected to the living room through a folding door system.
One of the most significant interventions was the demolition of the former spiral staircase that dominated the center of the floor plan. In its place, a new staircase was carefully repositioned to one corner, optimizing the spatial layout. Featuring stone flooring and a curved planter at the upper landing, the new staircase is surrounded by an indoor garden, bringing freshness and lightness to the apartment’s interior.
While the lower floor accommodates the more conventional living spaces, the upper level is entirely dedicated to leisure and socializing. A swimming pool, sauna, outdoor shower, barbecue area, gardens, and a rear office compose this space, which highlights the property’s greatest asset: the stunning view of Leblon Beach.
In terms of materiality, the project emphasizes light-toned elements, such as Itaúnas stone flooring and washed Freijó wood panels. One of the highlights is the wooden panel enclosing the sauna area, custom-designed exclusively for the project. Its slats, arranged to create a sense of movement, are echoed within the sauna interior, reinforcing visual unity. Another distinctive feature is the dining room sideboard on the lower floor, crafted from two contrasting woods and incorporating an integrated bar.
