At its core is a central void where light pools and filters into surrounding rooms. This space, both atmospheric anchor and organizing principle, reveals a subtle nine-square grid beneath an informal arrangement of rooms. Below, light streams through the oculus like sun through a forest clearing; above, filtered glow through cedar slats evokes the quiet of dwelling among branches.
The material palette is limited but expressive. A rough stucco base catches shifting light; cedar slats form a lantern-like screen mediating enclosure and privacy. Board-formed concrete anchors the massing and frames views, defining thresholds with quiet strength.
