The Lab School floor plan is developed around the experiential learning pedagogy. Focused on hands-on learning experiences, group and collaborative project assignments and intense use of technology, the educational environment is composed of large open multi-grade classrooms supported by small group instruction spaces and learning commons. The middle school curriculum revolves around three primary spaces: the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) Lab, the humanities center, and the Beit Midrash; the space dedicated to religious education and prayer, which is at the center of the program. The school also includes a cafeteria, administrative spaces, dedicated teacher “headquarters” embedded in the learning spaces, and spacious corridors and stairs for social interaction and the display of the children’s work. The school is fully integrated with wireless teaching technologies which allow every place in the school to be used for learning and sharing.
