The house is intended as a reflection of two volumes, above a base volume. 1st and 2nd floor are conceived as two mirrored L-shapes creating an atrium in the rear, while 3rd floor stretches outside of the floors below to create a covered patio at the back of the building.
The house follows a tight geometry, which is dissolved in the front façade. The geometry of the two floors has been inclined to create a terrace and a dining area at 1st floor, while the floor above reflects this angle. The ground floor of the buildings serves as the main entrance, a guest room / bedsit, storage and other functions. The kitchen and living room are placed on 1st floor with access straight into the garden and with a broad window façade framing the view over Oslofjorden. Light is invited in to the living room from the atrium and through the broad window façade in front. The garage is detached and located below ground and thus becomes an extension of the garden with its grass covered roof.
