The objective of the rehabilitation of the Castle of Hell will be to thoroughly renovate the dilapidated interior spaces, which have a very low historical value, to bring them up to standard from the point of view of accessibility and safety, and to improve the acoustic and thermal performance, which is currently insufficient, while altering the appearance of the castle as little as possible and returning it to its original spirit.
The extension is set out in an L-shape, to the east of the castle, and naturally extends the castle, while connecting it to the school in the park to the south, thus developing a clear and coherent built form.
Lower than the castle, it reinterprets and is inspired by models of outbuildings, thus respecting the traditional hierarchy in the composition of a castle.
The offset volumes will make it possible to visually attenuate the impact of this extension.
