This project involved the proposed new fit-out of a historic inner-city corner hotel (Percy’s Pub) in Lygon Street.
Two distinct thematic areas were envisaged for the existing bar and bistro areas, in an attempt to re-invigorate the locale to more contemporary standards, while also glorifying it’s past. The proposed layout would maximise the existing bar counter area and open the space out to accommodate more standing and sitting room for patrons, with the aid of lift-up tables as well.
The materials pallete was to be elegant and hard-wearing with the use of natural stones, copper, brass and stained timber finishes throughout. Acoustic insulation was improved where possible, especially over the bistro area where acoustic battens on the ceiling were proposed.
