Hisingsbron

Hisingsbron, which has a budget of 1 million Swedish crowns, spans over the central part of Scandinavia's most significant commercial harbour. The bridge is ca. 350 meters long and has a spectacular midsection which, borne by four distinctive towers, can be raised 30 meters above the water's surface. The bridge will become an icon for the harbour and for urban development in Gothenburg.

DISSING+WEITLING designed the winning proposal in collaboration with engineering firms ELU of Sweden and Leonhardt, Andrä und Partner of Germany.
