A masterplan was devised to transform the sculptor’s Hertfordshire estate into a 21st century cultural attraction. The former office building was refurbished, extended, and wrapped within a two-storey, grey-stained timber and glass pavilion. The ground floor features reception facilities, a shop, accessible toilets, an education space and a café overlooking the gardens. Offices and meeting rooms are on the ground and first floor. An archive for the artist's collections extends a former dwelling. The extension is clad in oxidised steel, contrasting with Moore’s bronzes and complementing the surrounding woodlands. The archive includes a timber lined reading room.
