FM:Systems recently made a strategic move just seven miles from its previous location, selecting the revitalized Raleigh Iron Works Campus at 1101 East Whitaker Mill Road, Suite 220, as the new home for its headquarters. This thoughtfully reimagined development combines the raw character of its industrial roots with the convenience and comfort of modern design, creating a workplace that prioritizes people and encourages collaboration. The relocation aligns with FM:Systems’ commitment to a people-first culture, offering a dynamic, real-time setting that serves as both a headquarters and a living showroom for its workplace management technologies. Little provided Interior Design, Engineering, and Brand Experience services, delivering an immersive and engaging environment that reflects FM:Systems’ culture and vision. JLL supported the project as the third-party Project Management group, ensuring smooth coordination across all teams and successful execution from start to finish.
Completed in August 2024, the new headquarters reflects a careful balance between high-performance office design and hospitality-inspired warmth. A custom bourbon bar provides a sophisticated yet welcoming gathering space, evoking the inviting spirit of traditional social hubs. Nearby, a private outdoor deck offers an additional venue for informal meetings and entertaining, further enhancing opportunities for meaningful engagement with employees, clients, and partners. The office is outfitted with FM:Systems' own workplace technologies, seamlessly integrated throughout to demonstrate their capabilities in action. The space pays homage to the building’s industrial heritage with exposed materials and finishes, while offering flexible layouts that accommodate the evolving demands of today’s hybrid and post-pandemic work culture. Collaboration, adaptability, and engagement are central to the design, making it both functional and inspiring.
Chief Strategy Officer Brian Haines captured the essence of the transformation in a company blog post on May 23, 2024: “We rarely invited customers or partners to our old office, but the new headquarters is designed for that. This is our home, but it’s also a place where we can show off all of our technology. We even have people asking us if they can come see it. It’s a beautiful space, and we are so excited to be here.”
