With five hundred square meters, inserted in a plot of five hectares, Casa do Arco is divided into four suites, a living room, a dining room, a meditation room and a kitchen with a dining table that stands out for its capacity. of 16 seats. The ideal place to gather family and friends. Both the kitchen and the doors are made of Danish Dinesen wood, a true tribute to the simplicity and beauty that comes from trees.
For this project we acquired an architecture and materials as neutral as possible. We wanted to accept all the surrounding secular nature such as the ancient cork oaks, olive trees and, in the back, pine trees so typical of this area. For this, we resort to completely natural cladding materials, such as clay in natural tones, black agglomerated cork and the use of the entire sustainability aspect, where we have achieved the objective of being an NZEB house with a very low environmental footprint.
The coverings were made in Navona travertine with application in Roman opus, giving the floor a brutalist character, softened through the use of natural wood in furniture and decoration.
The pool surrounds almost the entire house, meeting the cut-out porches in the line of sight of the master suite, offering an infinite sensation.
“More and more we defend and believe that we have to protect the nature that surrounds us, and all our projects move towards this purpose. This respect and the search for an increasingly smaller environmental impact are premises that we are committed to following in the future.” explains the CEO of SABRAB, Miguel Barbas.
At Casa do Arco, no external repairs will be made, and the entire surroundings will be maintained, preserving the existing nature, with only the sand that surrounds the site being treated.
