Located in the west of the city of Puebla, on a large plot of land, Casa Claustro succeeds with the intention of take the most advantage of the garden spaces, without neglecting the architectural program that, although simple, responds to the specific needs of the client.
Two simple composite axes were followed, one for the services area that crosses the land longitudinally and another perpendicular that leaves the property in transversal form, where they would develop the public spaces of the house. With the orientation given in some way by the location of the land, the best layout of the spaces was explored, solving them in such a way that the relationship with the outside was permanent, and ventilation and natural lighting were a constant in all interior environments.
Volumetry was solved in a more complex way, the superposition of three main volumes that acquire unity with a large float in the upper part, make up the main facade of the house, and the rear facade becomes two volumes, which are dissociated in Several elements giving rise to the window spans. To the street the facade is much more discreet without losing the volumetric intentions of the project, two important bodies frame the access giving rise to the garage and service access.
A key part of the design concept was to provoke open spaces, so the access point was designed so that it was not only a transition space but could be enjoyed at any time of the year, later, the main lobby was projected in An area with double height, where a sculptural staircase made of marble and steel gives character to the space.
A congruent combination of materials was a constant in the project, the mixture of warm materials like the apparent bricks, with industrial materials such as steel, were thought so that the house, without losing contemporaneity, would cause warmer environments inland. The wood to the oil, apparent concrete, and natural stones, complete the color palette of the project.
