Buses Estrella Roja is a passenger transport company with different services between the city of Puebla and the Mexico City; wich is going through a significant transformation in its image and service
The terminal 4 poniente in wich the company operates, has become one of the most important bus terminals in ths city, since it offers the possibility of accesing a lluxury transport service to the Mexico City, no need to move to the bus station in the city of Puebla, saving time in transfers and improving the mobility conditions of users.
Responding to the importance of this building, managing a high flow of users and passengers traveling mainly to the airport in Mexico City, it was necessary to make the terminal more functional, confortable and safe. Considering it in turn an important meeting place, the intervention rethinks the users experience by rearranging flows and making the building a more efficient and friendly building when traveling.
The exterior image is an important aspect in the intervention of the building, for wich a lattice of porcelain steel was proposed that runs along the entire façade and goes down to a pedestrian scale, giving rise to the access and to the motor lobby (bay of ascent-descent of vehicle). The image of the company is reflected in the pattern that combines shape and color in the fabric of sald lattice.
This intervention excedes the sacale of the user of the terminal, because the improvement of the property manages to transform the physiognomy of the street and promotes a new urban dynamic in an area of the city that is in evolution. The building could be considered an important trigger for this transformation since it has become a clear urban reference in the area.
