This quintessential Indo-Portuguese luxury villa in North Goa is a 4 bedroom, luxury holiday rental in Goa. A blend of Indian sensibilities with Mediterranean and Portuguese-style accents, this 3000 sqft villa combines old-world charm with contemporary luxury. High ceilings, an abundance of natural light and the seamless transition of indoor and outdoor areas whisper tales of opulence. Sweeping balconies and arched windows & doorways paint a picture of timeless elegance, while adding a touch of grandeur to the space. The brief coming from the hotelier clients was that the space should feel like a 'home away from home'.
Designed around the idea of slow living, the architecture and interiors have been planned to complement each other, balancing the indoors & outdoors, where end-to-end verandahs greet one on both levels. The arched facade and openings transport one to another world- a quality that immediately resonates with luxurious hospitality.
A nod to both European and Indian aesthetics, Buena Vida is where architecture meets the embrace of nature, inviting you to indulge in the lavish comforts of modern living while basking in the nostalgic charm of bygone eras.
At the onset, the towering entrance exudes a sense of grandeur, albeit with a sense of mystery since the sheer height does not allow for direct vision. Upon entry via the dual-sided steps, one is lead through the pool onto the front verandah surrounded by arches and gorgeous bougainvillea. The living and dining areas overlook the pool and an outdoor inset lounge area. The view upon entering the space via a water body is one of absolute awe and magnificence. The distinctive arched glass doors and windows in a sage green tint complement the textured finish of the walls. Splashes of pastels within the spaces scream all things earthy and tropical.
A large part of the villa feeling bright and inviting is the pour of natural light into spaces, where we have intentionally prioritized the sizes and number of openings as well as added skylights into the bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper floor. Each of the 4 suites have a distinct look and feel, tied together by colour and art that feels calm and intentional. A number of local artists were roped in for the various art pieces as well as for the hand-painted murals on walls. A patterned skirting tile that runs throughout the villa, connects spaces, making for a unique point of interest. The natural stone flooring, lime washed walls and the use of rattan and reclaimed wood lend an organic and timeless character to the spaces. The classical style of furniture and lights are complemented by subtle gold accents and attention to detail.
