On the Brillux site, a sales concentration should be created. The paintshop, which had previously been set up in the middle of the area, was to be moved or relocated so that the logistical process of production and distribution would work better. The goals were also the optimization of the factory traffic in connection with the customer traffic and the improvement of the loading and unloading areas for customers.
The property for the new customer center with office buildings is located on the north-east end of the company site on a fallow area between the motorway junction, Weselerstrasse and a petrol station. In order to give a clear conclusion to this narrow, dull-triangular resting surface, a 27 meter high tower is positioned at the top. In front of it and linking to the existing building development, the new construction of the customer center is like an elongated box. A black band mediates between the two different uses and summarizes the buildings. The black and white colors capture the corporate design of the company.
The nearly square ground plan of the tower is clearly organized: Stairwells, technical installations and sanitary areas are arranged as a massive block on the south-western facade. A glass elevator in the southern corner of the tower is connected to it. The remaining areas on the seven floors are used as office zones, which are divided by glass-swalls. On the top floor, a large seminar area is housed in which staff training as well as events with external visitors can be carried out. The loads of the tower built in steel - concrete skeleton construction are controlled by means of inner round supports and the massive stairwell core.
At the office tower is a water basin, which takes up the size of the land surface of the tower and continues the black band as a reflection. The basin is also perceived from the office building by a narrow window band.
