Boston Consulting Group’s 13,500 SF Raleigh-Durham office reflects the firm’s global reputation for innovation while embracing the character of downtown Durham. Located on American Tobacco Campus – positioned in left field with an unobstructed view of the Durham Bulls Ballpark – the workplace is intentionally tied to its community from the moment you arrive. Envisioned as a refined, human-centered workplace, the environment is designed to support collaboration, comfort, and focused productivity for consultants working in one of the Southeast’s fastest-growing business hubs, creating a welcoming hub for teams and clients alike.
A mid-design shift in program with the intent to allow for future expansion expanded the work lounge, creating both an opportunity and a challenge: how to unify a larger front-of-house zone into a cohesive spatial experience. The result is a more generous lounge and reception zone that encourages informal interaction and supports the day-to-day rhythms of both employees and visiting clients. Clear circulation, comfortable touchdown areas, and a balance of open and focused settings help the space flex from quick team huddles to longer work sessions.
Throughout the office, BCG’s brand is expressed with professional polish but tempered with warmth and approachability, reinforcing the concept of “Refined Connections” and a family-oriented workplace. The suite is organized around the work lounge and meeting spaces to maximize daylight and those signature stadium views, while local motifs are thoughtfully integrated through wall coverings, curated photography, and custom art installations, including “Durham Based” imagery that reinforces a sense of place. A signature brand installation further strengthens that connection by evolving over time—incorporating employee names to celebrate the people who make the office what it is. The result is a workplace that feels distinctly Durham while remaining unmistakably BCG; forward-looking, flexible, and built around the people who use it every day.
