Esteemed garden café Blå Porten, established in 1916, is a significant spot in Djurgården, Stockholm. It is still an intergenerational meeting place, originally designed by architect Carl Bergsten and closely intertwined with the Liljevalchs art gallery.
In restoring Blå Porten to its former glory, the collaboration with architectural firm Wingårdhs was pivotal, focusing on meticulously restoring walls and floors, and revitalising the garden – key elements that revived the essence of its original spirit. The furnishings were principally supplied by Swedish companies like Byarums Bruk and Stolab, while Tre Sekel manufactured dining tables based on Lindvall’s designs.
