Layered Light, A Garden in Motion
This design lets the romance of Southern France take root naturally within Tongzhou's riverside DNA.
Rooted in the site's canal-born character, the landscape narrative infuses the serene charm of the Southern French coast into its very structure — vertical terracing resolves the constraints of a narrow, elongated site, building a garden of layered depth; a low-saturation material palette lends the space a refined, gentle elegance; and in its quietest details, an unforced Southern French sensibility lingers in every step.
From the 50-meter urban facade that opens the journey home, to the hand-polished stone luster of the 65-meter Chanson Gallery; from the ever-changing views along the sunken garden's descending path and the seamless indoor-outdoor dialogue of the Four-Seasons Light Hall, to the quiet flower pots marking each entrance threshold — the space unfolds in careful layers, gathering a three-dimensional garden inspired by the art of Southern France into the rhythm of everyday life.
There's no need to travel far to the mountains or the sea — every return home is its own quiet arrival.
