Basaksehir Disabled Rehabilitation Center is designed, on a 6.675 m² health facility area with an aim to provide day care, special education and rehabilitation services on moderate and severe mental and / or physical handicapped individuals. Thus, it is expected to increase the cognitive capacity of people with disabilities, show improvement on adaptation to the social activities of daily living and development on social interaction. Thanks to care centers and educational facilities provided, disabled people and their families can also take time to themselves, it is also intended to receive counselling when necessary.

It has been the main factor determining the distribution on function of the building that the center mainly adresses people with disabilities. In accordance with the principle of accessibility, education and individual rehabilitation spaces is placed on the ground floor where disabled users will be attending intensely on the majority of areas. The building is shaped around the central and secondary courtyard where classes and physiotherapy rooms can be accessed, provide daylight and quality of spatial orientation of the green areas. Administrative units located on the first floor, also an entrance canopy, creates a defined centeral entrance, where users are directed to the cafeteria and common lounge area located at the end of the central courtyard.The common areas of the building, framing the cityscape, is located at a transition point linking the classroom groups depended different administrative units; are also capable of serving as exhibitions and group activity areas. Special treatment units which provide different equipment to improve the control of severe physical disabilities are also available at the center. Robotic rehabilitation and space treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, sensory integration and sensory perception rooms, have been planned in accordance in the levels of building and in relation to other common areas. The multipurpose hall, which will host conferences and events as social gethering point, is designed to meet knowledge, experience and a performing space.

All the appropriate measures, details of materials and equipment is fulfilled to use the disabled spaces and public areas of the building, by the requirements of the accessibility principles an regulations. The building is designed as a green building succeed in the quality of the space, use of materials, sensibility to the environment, landscape design and has managed to stand out in terms of user comfort.
