BakerHostetler has transformed the traditional law firm model into a welcoming and collaborative workplace that honors its history and reflects its vibrant culture. Guided by a strong emphasis on spatial and social connectivity, the office fosters seamless interaction through open layouts, curated communal spaces, and a dramatic central staircase that unites the workplace across levels. The result is a forward-thinking legal environment where professional excellence meets inclusive design. Reimagining conventional notions of corporate office design, BakerHostetler envisioned its Orlando space as a reflection of both performance and place. The design team responded with a concept that blends regional character with purpose-driven functionality. Rooted in inclusivity and collaboration, the environment was shaped to support the firm’s diverse teams while embodying its deep expertise. The result is a vibrant, visually compelling workplace that not only performs but also inspires—a space for everyone, by design.
Standardized office sizes, full-height glazing, and reimagined corner offices transformed the workplace into a light-filled, inclusive environment. Accessibility and well-being were prioritized through thoughtful details like ADA-compliant design and touchless, hand-wave sensors. Throughout the project’s three-phase construction, BIM technology and 3D visualization enabled immersive, real-time collaboration. Weekly coordination meetings reinforced alignment, resulting in a space that is as seamlessly executed as it is welcoming. Demountable glass office fronts ensure equitable access to natural daylight, enhancing both visibility and ambiance. Soft wood tones and light finishes amplify the sense of brightness, creating a cohesive and inviting environment. Formerly enclosed communal spaces have been reimagined as vibrant, inclusive hubs—accessible to all and central to the workplace’s focus on well-being. Thoughtful acoustic strategies were also integrated, minimizing distractions and supporting a more focused, comfortable user experience. The custom stair—crafted from recycled, rippled glass inspired by Florida’s waterways—serves as a visual and functional anchor. It introduces transparency at the heart of the workplace, seamlessly connecting levels while embodying the project’s commitment to movement, sustainability, and meaningful design.
Reflecting on the impact of the renovation, one client noted the transformation was both functional and unifying: “I wanted to tell you what a great job your team did on our office renovation—everyone loves it. It feels and functions so much better than before and really helps to connect us all throughout the day.” The new BakerHostetler office blends sophistication with functionality, enhancing user experience through thoughtful planning and inclusive design. Clients and staff alike have praised the inviting atmosphere, improved connectivity, and revitalized shared spaces that foster a more dynamic, collaborative.
