A Light-Filled Design Connecting Vision and Place
The Azure Bay Experience Pavillion in Sanya, Hainan is the first component of the wider Azure Bay tower and mixed-use development. Conceived as a gateway to the project, the pavillion offers visitors an immersive introduction to the vision and design ambition of the bayfront destination.
Nestled within the 7,500 sqm landscaped gardens of “Meeting the Sea” Park overlooking Sanya Bay, the pavillion by Lead8 unites architecture and interior design to create a light‑filled, welcoming environment. The compact yet highly considered building incorporates a lobby, reception, bar, and a series of indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, designed to support both engagement and relaxation.
Drawing on the architectural language established in Lead8’s design for the Azure Bay tower, the pavillion reflects a cohesive design narrative. A distinctive roof form – echoing the sculptural expression of the tower crown – extends into the interior, where ceiling and structure are conceived as a unified system. This approach works in harmony with Sanya’s abundant natural light, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow throughout the day.
As the first completed element of the Azure Bay development, the pavillion marks an important milestone in bringing the project to life. Lead8 continues to advance the wider tower and mixed-use scheme, which will further define Sanya’s evolving waterfront skyline.
