In the heart of the Venetian outskirts, an existing building has been transformed into a bright and refined residence that expresses a contemporary way of living. Designed by MIDE architetti, the project stems from an act of subtraction and reinterpretation: reclaiming an anonymous structure by simplifying its volumes and opening new perspectives onto the surrounding landscape.
The intervention unfolds across three levels, revealing from the ground floor a careful balance between composition and the relationship with the outdoors. The spacious entrance overlooks a small inner courtyard, protected by an exposed concrete wall punctuated by geometric openings that filter views and define a discreet threshold.
A sculptural staircase in exposed concrete and terrazzo leads to the living area: a generous open-plan space where the kitchen and dining area are organized around a central column, which becomes the compositional focal point of the interior. Here, natural light and the connection to the landscape take center stage through carefully positioned openings designed to frame the most compelling views.
The upper floor is dedicated to the sleeping quarters, an intimate and welcoming environment where light tones, custom-made cabinetry, and carefully proportioned volumes enhance even the lower sections beneath the pitched roof. The bathrooms, each defined by a distinct chromatic and compositional identity, reflect a design approach in which detail becomes an integral part of the spatial narrative.
Throughout the residence, MIDE architetti’s distinctive language emerges through clean lines, authentic materials, and a form of minimalism that balances rigor with warmth. Concrete, the project’s defining material, is softened by carefully selected furnishings and design pieces, creating interiors that feel both sophisticated and inviting.
The walls have been conceived as exhibition surfaces for a curated collection of artworks that integrate naturally with the architecture, guiding the eye through the spaces and contributing to a subtle narrative of the home.
More than a simple renovation, the project represents a reflection on contemporary living: a transformation that turns an existing structure into a home where functionality, identity, and spatial quality coexist, expressing a coherent and timeless architectural vision.
