1100 Peachtree

1100 Peachtree is a 28-story, octagonal-shaped building situated prominently on Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta. Characterized by its striking stair-stepped top, 1100 Peachtree had not been renovated since its delivery in 1989. Meanwhile, the building’s largest tenant, major law firm Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, was considering a lease renewal. Therefore, the design firm’s challenge was to refresh and elevate 1100 Peachtree’s arrival experience in order to attract new tenants and retain established ones, all while preserving the building’s timeless appeal.
Design solutions included replacing the obtrusive canopy with a clear-span glass system to wash the lobby in sunlight and highlight the 17-foot ceilings and public art. The design firm elevated the building’s original structure with Italian limestone and bronze accents to brighten the existing granite face. A “pocket park,” a miniature outdoor public space designed for tenants and visitors to be able to work or unwind in the fresh air, was crafted with durable seating and native greenery to strengthen the building’s connection to its urban environment. Updated signage was also added for easier wayfinding and former easy-to-miss signage was replaced with an illuminated 1100 Peachtree sign, so that the building could be identified from the street level.
The project was completed in summer 2025, and the result was an open and connected space fully integrated with the Midtown community. The building’s major law firm tenant also renewed its lease for 15 additional years.
