Drawing from more than 85 years of family experience in the lighting industry, Littman Brands has become an essential resource for lighting solutions as stylish as they are inventive. But, the selection of new offerings from three of its brands — smart choices for the bathroom to the ballroom and everywhere in between — proves the future of Littman is as auspicious as its past.

Sophisticated but never predictable, Troy Lighting is famed for its one-of-a-kind pendants and chandeliers forged by hand for more than half a century.

Cubist wall and ceiling mounted lights

Its aptly named Cubist suspends a white acrylic diffuser within faceted volumes of bronze finished in gold leaf and polished stainless steel — a clever way to add interest to minimalist entries or halls or give a Memphis-inspired living room an edgier look.

Citizen pendant

Citizen serves as functional art with a richly textured iron frame supporting clear pressed glass and shiny nickel fittings. Its design boasts a twist of physics where a single wire suspends and powers every bulb, from a light sconce to an eight-lamp chandelier, all via a clever pulley.

Sierra chandelier

On the other end of the spectrum, Sierra draws influence from nature: Its combination of light and shade, achieved through twisting twigs and branches of bronze-finished iron around partially concealed candelabra lamping, lends a natural luster to living rooms whether powered on or off.

Barron chandelier

Littman’s Hudson Valley Lighting division began creating residential and contract lighting from their New York headquarters more than 30 years ago. Their Barron collection features soft illumination inspired by 20th century Danish architecture, with layered, curved shades applied to light fixtures with a floral bent. Finely textured and painted black on the outside, with a metal finish on the inside, Barron’s shades are a visual delight. Opal-etched diffusers nested in pairs within each shade further soften and diffuse the light. Barron is available in two chandelier and wall sconce sizes, as well as a one-light pendant.

Hyde Park pendants and chandeliers

A more recent past is celebrated by Hyde Park, named after a beloved town in the Hudson Valley area of New York. Knurled rods of machined brass enclose candle cups or diffusers with dimmable LED lamping. Available in pendant, sconce and chandelier models, this series offers a fresh take on the rigorous natural patterns used in the neighborhood’s Frank Lloyd Wright homes.

Desmond chandelier

The motorcycle is a potent piece of American mythology, its engine and mufflers roaring and snarling from the redwood forests to the Gulf Stream waters. Proud owners travel in packs to enjoy the beauty of the land and admire each other’s meticulously maintained machines. It’s possible, in Desmond’s angle-cut arms and knurled bulb base, to see an homage to this iconic vehicle.

Solaris chandelier

Solaris, meanwhile, embraces that perennial favorite period style — midcentury modernism — for a clustered chandelier or single sconce and pendant, each showing off cones perforated in sharp diamond shapes held together with dapper black bands. A row of these sconces lined up in a home office, or over a bed, looks especially fresh.

Theory chandelier

Those seeking something with a more rich and opulent appeal might look to Corbett Lighting’s latest introductions. The brand has been precisely manufacturing offerings highlighting crystal and Japanese paper since the 1970s, yet their designs have only grown more compelling over time. Take Theory, for example, which creates a glimmering hall of mirrors out of alternating clear glass and gold-leafed rods, with calibrated LEDs shining both upward and downward to catch every angle. Its 40-inch-wide iteration is especially grand when accompanied by the collection’s 17- or 22-inch-high sconces; pendants crafted like diamond earrings also provide a dramatic look.

Piet pendants

The Piet collection features large pieces of handsome, hand-blown glass offered in three unique shapes. A tubular diffuser spreads warm light from its LED light source evenly throughout the glass. These unique round, almond or tapered bubbles are pierced by elongated, tapered stems accented by polished stainless steel. Piet is available in two variations: smoked glass with a silver graphite leaf finish or straw glass with gold leaf. The pendant is designed to illuminate beautifully on its own or showcase an entirely different aesthetic when grouped together.

Majorette pendant

And finally, Majorette adds a touch of eccentricity, enlivening settings from an entry to a kitchen island. The showstopper can be specified on varying scales and in different mounting options, from a 24- or 16-light ceiling pendant to a semi-flush ceiling or wall sconce. Each is made by hand of iron and finished in silver leaf, with polished chrome accents that set off the orbs of clear and clear-seeded glass.
