Milena is an architect, currently based in Belgrade, Serbia, whose interests include architectural and interior design, and research on the application of various media, first of all digital, in the field of architecture. She works as an independent architectural professional on various design projects, from small scale interiors to large scale housing complexes.
Milena graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Architecture in 2007. From 2008. to 2009. Milena attended the M.Arch II program at Cornell University, NY, with her focus on Architecture and Media. She studied architecture through various media, including 3d modelling, rendering and animation, Google Earth, parametric design, collaging, movie editing, spatial installations, etc. Additionally, she was working as a teaching assistant and participated in the realisation of several projects in the collaboration with the faculty.
In 2010. Milena moved to Slovenia to become part of the team of Ljubljana based architecture studio Sadar+Vuga. She participated in developing project documentation, supervision and coordination of the final stages of construction works on the Sports Center Stožice in Ljubljana. As part of the Sadar+Vuga team, she also participated or managed a large number of open and invited international competitions. The project for the National Museum in Belgrade, Serbia, recieved an honorable mention.
In Belgrade based company Arhi.pro she aquired experience in architectural design and project development on various scale projects, as well as worked as project manager on several large scale project in Serbia and the region.
In 2013 Milena started the Women in Architecture Initiative and is the editor of the consequent publication "Women in Architecture | Contemporary Architecture in Serbia since 1900", which was published in 2014. She is co-author of the awarded children's workshop "Women as Belgrade Builders".
