Long-term interest in architecture, manifested in involvement with a wide variety of projects over three decades, from '80's squatting in abandoned buildings and reshaping them into spaces for creative activity, to authorised adaptive re-use along similar lines in the '00s, to new museum, gallery, urban space and visitor centres across Australia through my company CDP Media [cdpmedia.com.au]. For example, working with LAB Architecture (Peter Davidson/Donald Bates) on their extraordinary Federation Square development in Melbourne.
I was one of the Creative Director team for the Australian Pavilion exhibition 'Abundant Australia" in the Aaron Betsky Venice Architecture Biennale 2008.
In 2010, I designed and built (with Philip Sticklen) an off-grid bush hut at Origma Reserve, an undeveloped bush property I own an hour north-west of Sydney, Australia. See Origma Hut for images. More recently, I designed and manufactured a water-jet cut aluminium hub system for construction of 32mm square section timber baton geodesic dome frames.
