Zenith is an Australian fashion retailer specialising in high end street wear. Their flagship store located on Bourke St, within the Melbourne CBD boasts an understated industrial interior, reflecting a minimalist, curated approach to fashion. The paired back, sophisticated nature of the interior emphasizes the exclusivity of their merchandise.
Selling a range of fashion products such as, clothes, shoes, bags and fashion accessories, Zenith provides the Australian youth market with high end, on trend European, American and Korean brands. By using a paired back materials palette of concrete, marble and copper, the interior reflects the luxurious and coveted products stocked within.
Working with small site limitations, large scaled tinted mirrors were hung from the ceiling. The mirrors have been purposely angled as to highlight the products below and to ingeniously reveal areas of the store that were hidden behind columns; expanding the space visually. Accessories have been displayed in "magic jewellery box" display cases that can slide out to display hidden items. This concept was extended to the wall displays which have been encased in copper, and display the real "wow" pieces.
Local artist June Chen was engaged to create the sculptural pieces which create the "hero corner" of the store. The front of the tenancy features sculptural arms, which look as though they are protruding from the wall. These arms "hold" copper platters, displaying a select range of the stores most coveted items.
