What gives character to a residential project?
In an infill condition, what destiny remains for architecture other than façade-making?
This family complex, located in Zanjan, consists of several single-unit floors and one duplex level. The project’s form, following its underlying diagram, transforms this internal distinction into its primary character rather than concealing it behind a continuous façade.
A duplex villa is placed upon a ground plane that sits on the roof of the lower floors. This elevated “ground” accommodates the villa’s open spaces and greenery. The positioning of the vertical circulation stair, extending to the roof, turns the façade into the performance of a distinct lifestyle within an infill building.
