The first wooden hotel in Ljubljana is the new addition of the neighboring BIT Center Hotel and comprises 25 hotel rooms measuring between 25 and 40 square meters. It contains three floors, where rooms line on the east and west sides of the hotel. The rooms on the east side are more classical in its configuration, while the rooms on the east side are more modern with a bathroom niche inside the sleeping area. On the ground floor there are also two bigger rooms for a larger number of guests. Each accommodation unit has its own balcony, while the rooms on the ground floor have outdoor atriums.
The building’s shape is rectangular, complemented by the playful layout of individual balconies of varying depths. These are further exposed due to the facade choice of white large-format panels. The basic outline of the building is clad in a darker facade with vertically elegant wooden elements. The building is complemented by an external staircase wrapped in perforated sheet metal.
The visible wooden ceiling in the individual rooms shows the primary wooden structure of the building, which enriches the minimalism of interior design. Nicoless chairs made from recycled materials and photographs by costume designer Allen Hranitelj also complement the interior.
The building is located in an area where many new sports facilities have been built, as well surrounded by large green areas that will be transformed into a city park. Hotel WUD will make an important contribution to the sustainable development of Slovenian tourism and the comfort of hotel guests.
