Woodstock Hospital had achieved LEED Silver certification within 15 months of opening. This achievement was realized with efforts of the entire design team which consisted of Parkin Architects, WalterFedy, Vertechs, Enermodal Engineering and Seawood Solutions, with Woodstock Hospital, EllisDon and Honeywell.
Sustainability is important for the hospital, the community, and the planet as a whole. The hospital made a commitment early in the project to pursue LEED certification.
The team has been successful in securing two challenging “Innovation in Design” Credits; one for “Low-Emitting Systems Furniture” through the Hospital’s purchase of Green-Guard Certified furnishings, and another titled “Places of Respite”, as a result of our innovative courtyard designs which provide a healthy healing atmosphere for patients, and a de-stressing environment for visitors and hospital staff.
The project received an overall score of 35 of 37 targeted points – well above the 33 point threshold for LEED Silver.
