Completed in 2016, the Warrior Ice Arena is a new addition to Boston Landing, New Balance‰Ûªs new 14-acre health and wellness district in Boston, Massachusetts.
This 244,542-square-foot facility contains the official practice center for the Boston Bruins, Boston's world-champion professional hockey team, as well as the Bruins' home training, locker, rehabilitative sports medicine, and administrative facilities. The rink was designed to meet National Hockey League (NHL) standards, requiring a high level of detail to conform to the NHL's stringent requirements. In addition, to use by the Bruins, the Warrior Arena accommodates approximately 650 spectators for viewing Bruins' practice sessions, which are open to the public, and is shared by the public for activities ranging from amateur league and intercollegiate play, to youth hockey, to public free skating and other uses. Public amenities provided within the building include a suite of six locker rooms, skate rental, a double-height retail space, a third-level concessions concourse, function rooms for private events, and public underground parking. The Bruins' space includes locker rooms and shower facilities, strength and conditioning areas, a rehabilitation center, meeting and video rooms, kitchen and dining facilities, lounge areas, secure parking for the team, and the team's administrative offices.
Located in the Brighton section of Boston and sited directly adjacent to the Massachusetts Turnpike, which accommodates 220,000 vehicle trips each day, the Warrior Arena provides extraordinary visibility for the Bruins brand, as well as new prestige for the neighborhood. To maximize this opportunity, the building‰Ûªs entire north fa̤ade is glazed, its 40-foot glass wall running the length of the facility and allowing views into the rink and the Bruins championship banners for all who drive by. A second-level outdoor landscaped terrace joins the building to New Balance's new global headquarters, creating a connected campus of sports- and fitness-oriented activities.
